Help & getting started
Your home feed
For you prioritizes members, connections, conversations you joined, and topics you participate in. Following shows debates people you follow or connect with start or reply to. Latest shows recent member posts. Fictional starter discussions are kept in their own area.
Build your profile
Choose a public display name and a short bio. Upload a profile photo in Edit profile, or keep the colored circle with your initial. You can replace or remove your photo anytime.
Follow and save
Follow members without waiting for acceptance. Find them under Following; their debates and replies help shape your feed. Save debates privately using Save debate. Choose your interests under Your topics.
Mentions and changed minds
Use @username in a post or reply to notify someone (up to 10 members per post). Select Changed my mind on another member’s reply when it helps you reconsider. One recognition per member per reply; you can undo it. Recognition counts are public and the author is notified. They do not certify truth or decide the debate winner.
Meet people
Browse People, visit a profile, and send a connection request. Connections are mutual: the other person must accept. Manage requests and blocks under Connections.
Join a debate
Reply to the opening post or tap Reply on a specific comment. Tap a thread line to collapse a branch. Closed or archived discussions do not accept replies.
Positions and sources
Pro, Con, and Neutral labels are optional and refer to the opening question, even when replying to another comment. Attach up to three source links to an opening post or reply. You can edit or remove your labels and sources while the discussion is open. Sources are supplied by members, not verified by netwit.
Vote thoughtfully
Upvote or downvote an argument’s contributor. You have one active vote per participant per debate; you can change or remove it while voting is open. Votes express community opinion, not verified truth.
Protect your account
Use a unique password of at least 12 characters. Change it in Settings using your current password. Username-only accounts have no email password recovery. Legacy email accounts can use Forgot password.
Safety and moderation
Report spam, harassment, threats, or private information. Netwit Guard blocks some spam and flags selected phrases for human review; it is not a complete AI moderator. Disagreement alone is not a violation.
Starter discussions and privacy
Starter discussions contain fictional profiles, opening posts, and prepared replies. Their pages explain this, and real replies are labeled Member. Public posts and profiles can be read without signing in. Connections, notifications, and reports are private to the relevant accounts. There are no private messages.
